A full-time (37 hours per week) temporary assignment, initially for three months, located in Shepton Mallet, Somerset. Our Client is a local authority seeking an experienced, capable and organised Digital Print Operative who can support the Print, Post and Design Team, reporting to the Operations Manager. Duties include liaising with Clients, via email, telephone and face to face, to interpret the Client’s brief. To offer a prompt and efficient response to customer requests and managing their demands pro-actively where possible. Monitor print requests received on the client’s software, establish the production and finishing requirements, determining pagination layout as appropriate, manipulating text and/or variable data as required, and be confident in operating the software and digital printers to ensure the desired format. To maintain computer data files of customer documents and to operate and deliver within SLA and KPI agreements. To advise the Operations Manager of production issues and/or any risk of targets being missed, recommending action to resolve the problem. Complete job-related software/paperwork daily ensuring accuracy of information recorded. Assist the Operations Manager in daily billing schedules, observing critical deadline deliveries and provide cover as necessary. Support the Operations Manager and team colleagues in introducing service enhancements and participate in team meetings. To maintain work in progress in a neat and orderly fashion and all equipment in a clean and safe manner. Liaise with maintenance engineers and suppliers. Undertake regular stock checks, advising the Operations Manager of ordering requirements, ensuring wastage is kept to a minimum. Our Client is seeking a capable Digital Print Operative with a working knowledge and experience of Adobe software suite and Microsoft Office Programs. Furthermore, the successful applicant will have accurate data entry skills, together with the ability to prioritise their own work-load to meet deadlines and to act on their own initiative to resolve problems. Educated to a minimum of 5 GCSE’s at Grade A to C (to include English and Maths) or equivalent qualification or relevant experience. An IT qualification i.e. ECDL, CLAIT or similar. Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to explain processes and procedures in an easy to understand manner will be required. Working days and hours are 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 09.00 to 17.00 daily with some flexibility required to ensure that urgent deadlines can be met on occasions. The hourly pay rate for this assignment is £8.98 per hour. Free car parking is available.
