A full-time temporary assignment envisaged to be for 12 weeks plus and, for the right candidate, may have the potential to transfer from temporary to a permanent job. Based out of Wells in Somerset with local deliveries in and around the Mendip area. Our Client is seeking an Early Morning Van Delivery Driver to join their active and busy team delivering newspapers, milk and other dairy products from Wells around the local Mendip area. The role will include loading customer orders into the van first thing in the morning in accordance with the daily delivery rota, delivering the orders to customers and handling cash collection & receipts. The main responsibilities will be to ensure orders are accurately delivered in a good timely manner. Working days and hours are Monday to Saturday each week 05.30 to circa 12.30 daily (or to finish – daily finish times can vary on different days given the nature of the delivery work). 42 hours per week and the hourly pay rate is £8.75 per hour. The person being sought will be active and willing to work independently, in all weathers, at a good pace, on their feet with the ability to represent the company in a positive manner and communicate well with customers. Being dependable with good time keeping for an early start six out of seven days per week will be essential. Their customers (often elderly) rely upon these daily deliveries of milk and papers. The candidate will require a full UK Driving License with no more than 3 penalty points as well as being a careful and considerate driver. Previous employment references will be required. The hourly pay rate for this assignment is £8.75 per hour and the working days and hours are Monday to Saturday, 05.30 to circa 12.30 or finish.
