Our Client is a fast paced, rapidly growing, and award-winning medium size business manufacturing gourmet snacks. They are located near Glastonbury in Somerset and from their rural location they supply discerning outlets throughout the UK and export to many international markets. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, enthusiastic, and adaptable Supply Chain & Logistics Assistant Manager to join their busy team. The main function of the role is to oversee and maintain the day-to-day management of all aspects of stock control. Including stock checks, stock release, storage, daily processing of internal production data, checking and processing purchase orders, deliveries & invoices, data input, report generating and product traceability processes. Reporting to the Senior Supply Chain Manager, communicating regularly with all departments in the business and maintaining excellent relationships with suppliers & transport providers. This is an interesting and varied role which will evolve alongside the business needs. The candidate being sought will have an eye for detail, be numerate and have excellent communication skills. The ability to work as part of a team as well as independently is essential. Knowledge of a stock management software system (such as Sapman V12) and Sage Accountancy software is a definite advantage but not essential. The successful candidate will have good initiative and an ability to learn quickly. In return, this is an excellent opportunity for someone to learn the key functions within a business in what has become the highly competitive area of procurement & supply chain. This role will undoubtedly have its challenges reflecting the on-going pressures on supply chains so it will require an energetic & resilient candidate. However, it is an interesting and varied role suited to someone who seeks excitement in their working lives. Due to the rural location of the business, it is essential that candidates are car owner/drivers. The working day and hours are Monday to Friday, 09.00 to 17.30 daily with a one-hour lunchbreak. A 37.5 hour working week. Annual entitlement to paid leave at 5.6 weeks (including Bank Holidays). The salary range for this post is £23,000 to £28,000 p.a. (depending upon experience).
