Production Operative

Type: none entered Sector: industrial Location: Wells
Hours: Mon to Fri 10.00 - 18.30 Salary: £10.00 per hour Date Posted: 21/09/2022
Description:
Our Client is an exciting and developing company engaging in many new business opportunities, developing, and manufacturing natural fragrances, skincare, and beauty products for several successful brands. Consequently, they are looking for a conscientious, bright, and enthusiastic individual to join them in the role of Production Operative within their Later Shift Production Team. Within this role there will be various duties and responsibilities involved in the production of natural fragrances, skincare, and beauty products such as operating machinery (filling machines & labelling machines); learning how to set up machinery; filling, lidding, labelling & packing bottles & jars; packing customer orders for dispatch; ensuring high QC standards are always met and keeping the production areas clean & tidy. Full Health & Safety and Job training will be provided together with any P.P.E. the assignment may require. The Client would like to recruit for this post, initially through the Agency, using a 12-week temporary to permanent trial period after which a review will be conducted. This is a pleasant working environment with a supportive team and the position is interesting & varied in a beautifully scented workplace! The successful Applicant will be able to display the following qualities & skills: Hard working, dependable & conscientious; an ability to work under pressure & to deadlines, an ability to work as part of a team & to follow instruction; attention to detail; a positive & flexible attitude; IT & keyboard skills (including MS Office). Some previous experience of working within production is preferred (ideally 1 year plus) but this is not essential for an enthusiastic candidate – keen and willing to learn. Furthermore, some of the above tasks are quite automated whereas others are “hands on” (such as screwing the lids on to some products) so candidates will need to be able & willing to work on their feet and dexterity will be needed to undertake a variety of production and packing tasks throughout the working day. An ability to work accurately and at a good rate will be essential. Good team players are being sought. Given the semi-rural location (3.5 miles outside Central Wells) all Applicants will need to have their own transport. Free car parking is available. Working days and hours for this assignment are Monday to Thursday 10.00 to 18.30 & Friday 09.30 to 17.00 (including 45 minutes of unpaid daily breaks Monday to Thursday and a 30-minute unpaid break on Friday). A 38-hour working week. The hourly pay rate for this assignment is £10.00 per hour. This is a full-time temporary assignment and (for the right candidate) has the potential to transfer “temp to perm” after 12 weeks of successful temporary service to a permanent position direct with the Client. Following a successful “temp to perm” 12-week trial period, the successful candidate can expect a permanent position direct with the Client with potential for further salary progression as you learn new skills and take on more responsibilities and tasks.
